LM500 Portable Milling Machine
Detail
LM500 portable milling machine features a modular design, specifically developed to address the limitations of on-site machining.
Based on customer requirements, the LM500 on-site milling machine utilizes aircraft-grade aluminum for its Y-axis, significantly enhancing overall strength while reducing weight, ensuring easy and convenient installation and operation for on-site operators.
The LM500 mobile linear milling machine utilizes various power systems tailored to specific on-site working conditions. The model shown here utilizes a manual wheel for Y-axis feed, while the Z-axis spindle head utilizes a servo drive as the spindle power source. Combined with a reduction motor, this significantly enhances torque while reducing space congestion. The LM500 lightweight on-site linear milling machine's base features a magnetic mounting system. Weighing only 70 kg, the magnets easily attach to metal parts for non-destructive machining. This eliminates the need for welding or separate installation of machining locations and equipment, significantly reducing machining complexity and ensuring a complete, integrated process.
Why do we need a lightweight portable milling machine for on-site processing?
Field processing machines are machine tools that are mounted on components to process them. They are also called portable machine tools, mobile machine tools, or field processing equipment. These machines are primarily used in industries such as shipbuilding, power generation, petrochemicals, and road and bridge construction. They process large parts that are bulky, heavy, or difficult to transport and disassemble. They include lathes, milling machines, drilling machines, boring machines, grinders, and beveling machines.
For many years, the manufacture and repair of large equipment in industries such as shipbuilding, offshore engineering, power generation, steelmaking, petrochemicals, mining, and construction machinery relied on simple, cumbersome traditional equipment or manual grinding. Some large parts or equipment can no longer be processed on machines in the workshop and require on-site installation of processing machines onto the parts or equipment.
Portable milling machines are essential for on-site machining due to their lightweight, compact design, which allows easy transport and setup in remote or confined locations. Unlike heavy industrial mills, they enable precise repairs or modifications on large, immobile equipment, such as turbines, pipelines, or ship components, without disassembly. Their versatility supports tasks like surface milling, flange facing, or key way cutting, improving efficiency and reducing downtime. These machines are ideal for industries like oil and gas, power generation, or marine, where rapid, accurate machining in challenging environments is critical.
With a portable milling machine, we can do the on site milling service fast and easy, it will reduce downtime and cost significantly. Welcome to order your customized on site linear milling machine!
